The Bourmault household is in Avize, in the heart of Côte des Blancs.
They own 4 hectares of vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, that’s judged to be the reign of Chardonnay, and 2 hectares in the Vallée de la Marne, where their Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vineyards are located.
The Bourmault family, native of Sarthe department, settled at Cuis in the Côte des Blancs in 1870, they have been hand downing their work through generations.
Christian Bourmault comes from a family of wine growers, that’s why he’s so deeply bound to traditional farming work.
Indeed his vineyards are all organically farmed with a particular attention to details.
Bourmault’s period of grape harvest begins as late as possible in order to let the grapes reach the minimum maturity of 10/11 °C.
Faithful to his traditions he leaves his wines ferment in oak and steel barriques of 25 hl. This process let them obtain a natural and slow fermentation and makes possible to extract all the aromas in the best way.
